Our Story

In the Mediterranean, a meal is more than food. It is a moment of connection, a gathering of friends, and a quiet celebration of generosity and hospitality passed down through generations. Conversations linger, tables are shared, and time softens around the experience.

This philosophy defines the work of award winning chef Coskun Abik. His culinary journey began in the Eastern Mediterranean, where vibrant markets, coastal kitchens, and long family tables shaped his understanding of food and community. From an early age, he was surrounded by the aromas of olive oil, fresh herbs, charcoal grilled meats, and seafood brought from the sea only hours before reaching the table.

In 1994, Chef Coskun Abik began his professional career in hospitality and later brought his vision to the United States. Over the years, he has become known for creating distinctive restaurants such as Dunyā Bistro, Lark, Blind Butcher Steakhouse, and Opelia, where Aegean and Anatolian culinary traditions are expressed through the lens of California’s seasonal abundance. Each concept reflects a refined yet welcoming sensibility, balancing heritage and innovation while maintaining a deep commitment to hospitality.

Now, Chef Coskun Abik brings this vision to Los Angeles. Located on Melrose Avenue, the restaurant introduces a new destination where the spirit of the Aegean meets the creativity and energy of California.

The menu celebrates the vibrant traditions of Aegean and Anatolian cuisine through pristine seafood, charcoal grilled meats, and bright seasonal vegetables, alongside a thoughtful selection of classic and reimagined mezze designed for sharing. Each dish is prepared with simplicity and intention, honoring the ingredients while inviting guests to gather, taste, and linger. A carefully curated wine list and crafted cocktails complete the experience with depth and balance.

The atmosphere reflects the relaxed elegance of the Aegean coast. Natural textures, warm ambient light, and a contemporary yet timeless design create a space that feels both transportive and distinctly rooted in Los Angeles.

Evenings unfold slowly here. Conversations extend, plates are shared, and every guest is welcomed with a sense of ease, warmth, and enduring hospitality.
